Multiple Thefts at Royersford Kohl's Lead to Arrests

Police say two Philadelphia residents are responsible for a string of thefts.

Police have arrested and charged two Philadelphia residents in a series of thefts at the Kohl's department store on Township Line Road.

According to a report in the Pottstown Mercury, Maurice McCorkle and Aidaluy Brown were arrested after police were able to identify them from video surveillance recordings.

As Patch reported in September, McCorkle and Brown—at that time unidentified—were allegedly involved in thefts from the Royersford Kohl's store on Sept. 1 and 27, 2012. They are also suspected of involvement in thefts from a Kohl's at the Granite Run Mall on Sept. 10 and 22, 2012.

According to the Mercury's report, McCorkle and Brown were also allegedly part of a theft attempt on Jan. 27, 2013 at the Royersford Kohl's.

Police said they suspect McCorkle is part of an organized retail theft ring because he was allegedly involved in all the thefts and his car was used several times.
