Two Firefighters Injured in Egypt Road Crash [UPDATE]

A Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company truck collided with a tractor trailer.


A Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company (BRVFC) truck collided with a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Black Rock and Egypt Roads in Oaks on Thursday morning while en route to the scene of an accident on 422 around 8:40 a.m., according to the fire department.

Two BRVFC firefighters were transported to the hospital with minor injuries; both were treated and released, according to the fire company.

The apparatus in the crash, Squad 99, sustained heavy front-end damage and is expected to be out of service for several months at a minimum, according to the BRVFC. 

Fire equipment and apparatus has been relocated between the Oaks and Mont Clare BRVFC stations to ensure continued rescue services to the community.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Upper Providence Township Police Department.
