A woman and a child suffered non-life-threatening injuries Friday night in a one vehicle accident on Swamp Pike in Limerick.
The driver, a Gilbertsville resident, was driving her minivan southeast on Swamp Pike when she ran off the road into the wet grass on one side, overcorrected, and crashed into the trees on the opposite side.
According to Limerick Township police officer Christopher Iochum, the driver was "possibly temporarily distracted by her daughter in the back seat."
The driver was "a little banged up," Iochum said, and was transported to Reading Hospital. The child was slightly injured but Iochum said she was fine.
Police blocked one lane of Swamp Pike until the van was extricated from the woods.
