Two Spring City Men Arrested on Drug Charges

The two were arrested at a Wawa convenience store on Tuesday night.

The Royersford Police Department announced the Tuesday arrest of two Spring City men on drug charges following an investigation by Royersford Borough, Spring City Borough and East Vincent Township Police and the Chester County Drug Task Force.

The investigation is an ongoing cooperative effort among those departments and others to stop drug trafficking between Chester and Montgomery Counties.

According to Officer Tom Godin of the Royersford Police Department, David Staude, a former Spring City resident, and Greg Pavlik, of Spring City, were arrested at the Wawa convenience store at Township Line Road and Walnut Street in Royersford.

Pavlik was allegedly in possession of 57 packets of heroin and a number of methadone pills. Police said the methadone pills were wrapped in cellophane cigarette paper and also reported that Pavlik could not produce a prescription for the pills.

Staude was allegedly in possession of 10 packets of heroin.

Both Staude and Pavlik were transported to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. Police said Staude had a bench warrant issued for unrelated shoplifting charges. Court records show Pavlik was on probation following a guilty plea to charges stemming from a vehicle accident in 2008.

Pavlik was arraigned and bail was set at $10,000 cash.

"The Operation was part of an inter-county initiative to curb drug trafficking across county lines. Royersford is unique in that it shares a border with a municipality (Spring City) who are in a different county. The agencies will continue to increase cooperation between the county lines to provide increased safety to both our communities," Godin said in an email.

"Officers will be out in plain clothes and unmarked vehicles aggressively trying to deter the inter-county trafficking. We are trying in every effort to publicize these suspects to help deter further trafficking," Godin said.
