UPDATE: Report Released on Sly Fox Assault

Police later found the assailant at a Labor Day weekend incident at Sly Fox.

Just before 10 p.m. on Sept. 3, Limerick police received a report of an assault at . Officer Christopher Nestler arrived on scene to find that the assailant had fled the scene and the victim was being taken care of.

Witnesses described the alleged assailant, Vincent Capriolo Jr., 25 of Royersford, as a white male wearing a golf shirt and shorts. Police were told that the assailant threw a glass at an on-duty cook, John Purnell of Spring City, who was being treated for lacerations upon the officer's arrival.

According to doctors at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center the lacerations were about three inches in length and one inch deep on the neck and throat area. There was "obvious muscle damage" and "possible nerve damage" to that area, which was very close to the jugular vein.

The on-duty manager said she saw two females come in with Capriolo and later saw Capriolo get into an argument with another patron. That is when she grabbed Purnell and asked Capriolo to leave and the drama ensued.

One of the females that was with Capriolo told Nestler that Capriolo was her brother and he has since left the scene. She said her and a friend were arguing over who was next in a pool game when a white male in his 20s with tattoos came over and made "snide" comments. The witness, who said her last name was Love, said she jumped in the middle of the altercation and was thrown to the ground. She showed officers various bruises and attributed the altercation to them. Nestler reported he noticed Love had red and watery eyes and smelled like alcohol.

In her complaint, Love refused to say who struck her and that her brother's last name was Love. She would not provide them with his phone number or address.

Another witness, who is an employee at the restaurant, told police that Love was nowhere near any altercation and was standing near the machines.

"I spoke with Hause, [the] employee, who heard the yelling and saw the actor yelling with the unknown participant, and both had each other in a headlock," Nestler said in the report. "[Hause] thought they were friends and goofing around until he heard Love demand Hause break up the fight. As he escorted this third actor out, he saw [Capriolo] raise a pool cue as if he was preparing to strike the other actor."

Purnell told police he was helping the on-duty manager eject Capriolo. Purnell said Capriolo got in the manager's face and he intervened. A physical altercation occurred thereafter and Capriolo struck Purnell with a beer glass.

Another witness, who is a retired West Norriton police officer overheard the argument in the game room when he was en route to the bathroom.

"He heard [Capriolo] and another male arguing, and a female voice telling the actor that he had to leave," the report said. "He heard glass breaking, and exited the men's room to see [the] victim bleeding and administered first aid."

Officers later contacted Capriolo's mother, who notified them of his true identity (last name Capriolo and not Love, as his sister originally stated).

Police were dispatched at 1:35 a.m. later that night in Phoenixville, where Love was being treated for "injuries sustained." She told police in a later phone call that she couldn't understand why police wouldn't take her report.

Capriolo was not found that night, but met with officers at a later date and time. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
