A Chadds Ford man said he was fined $100 "for running in Valley Forge National Historical Park during the government shutdown," according to a report in the Pottstown Mercury.

John Bell, a marathoner, said he parked in a remote parking lot that was not blocked by barricades and when he returned, park rangers were waiting for him.

According to the report, Bell said he saw many other runners and bikers in the park.
