MontCo Sheriff's Department to Hold Commendation Ceremony for Employees

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department (MCSD) will hold a commendation ceremony to recognize employees who have shown superior acts in public service.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) will publicly commend some of their employees for extraordinary deeds in public service in a special ceremony that will be held on Sept. 27 at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, according to a press release from Montgomery county.

At the commendation ceremony, which will be held at 7:30 a.m. in Courtroom A, the MCSD employees who will be recognized will receive certificates and official bar pins for their extraordinary behavior.  The following MCSD employees will be honored: 

  • Dep. Craig Sisca is to receive the Commendation of Bravery for halting an armed robbery that was in progress.
  • Dep. Ian Stewart is to receive the Commendation of Exceptional Service for quickly responding to an area where there was a plane crash, and a victim, while he was off-duty.
  • Dep. Jeffrey Simmons is to receive the Commendation of Merit for responding to an assault while he was on a traffic detail.
  • Dep. Thomas Franklin is to receive a Unit Citation for helping in the recovery of a stolen MCSD vehicle.
  • Dep. Frank Morgan is to receive a Unit Citation after he assisted in the recovery of a stolen MCSD vehicle.
  • Dep. John Lomastro is to receive a Unit Citation for his speed in extinguishing a car engine fire at the Montgomery County Courthouse.
  • Dep. Robert Neetzow is to receive a Unit Citation for his speed in extinguishing a car engine fire at the Montgomery County Courthouse.
  • Dep. Edwin Walker is to receive a Unit Citation for his speed in extinguishing a car engine fire at the Montgomery County Courthouse.
  • Sgt. Allen F. Stewart is to receive a Unit Citation for helping to dispose of pipe bombs and other forbidden devices in after a FBI Philadelphia Division bomb call.
  • Cpt. Richard Miles is to receive a Unit Citation for helping to dispose of pipe bombs and other forbidden devices after a FBI Philadelphia Division bomb call.
  • Dep. Jon Cagliola is to receive a Unit Citation for helping to dispose of pipe bombs and other forbidden devices after a FBI Philadelphia Division bomb call.
  • Dep. Andrew Noto is to receive a Unit Citation for helping to dispose of pipe bombs and other forbidden devices after a FBI Philadelphia Division bomb call.
  • Dep. Gregory Sedgwick is to receive a Unit Citation for helping to dispose of pipe bombs and other forbidden devices after a FBI Philadelphia Division bomb call.
  • Dep. Ryan Volk is to receive a Unit Citation for helping to dispose of pipe bombs and other forbidden devices after a FBI Philadelphia Division bomb call.
  • Dep. Joanne Plasterer is to receive a Commendatory Letter for pursuing a "Submit-A-Tip" lead, which allowed authorities to arrest one of MCSD's Most Wanted criminals.
