Royersford Borough Appoints Fire Marshal

The borough council also recognized two businesses celebrating their fiftieth anniversaries.

Royersford Borough Council introduced their new fire marshal, Craig Keffer, at Thursday's brief council meeting.

Keffer, who has lived in Royersford and Spring City his whole life, has over 20 years of service as a firefighter and is currently a lieutenant with the Royersford Fire Department.

Keffer's appointment fills the fire marshal position formerly held by Harry VanHorn, Jr., who passed away in August.

Two local businesses and their owners were recognized by Mayor John Guest at the beginning of the meeting.

Tom's Bar and Grille and Christman Jewelers both opened in 1962 and have passed from father to son. Tom's owner Tom Attilio and Christman Jewelers owner Wilson Christman accepted plaques honoring them for their long history in the borough.

"Thank you for this recognition of Main Street, not just me," Christman told the council. "We're not just merchants, we're servants of the community."

Other business
