Royersford, Spring City Declare Snow Emergencies

Vehicles must be moved from the snow emergency routes in the boroughs.


Snow Emergencies have been declared for Royersford and Spring City boroughs due to expected weather. 

Chief Emergency Management Coordinator Carl Daywalt III announced that a snow emergency has been declared beginning Thursday at 3 p.m.

"Please move all vehicles off of the snow emergency routes (2nd Ave odd side, 5th Ave odd side, Walnut Street in the 800 & 900 blocks, Washington Street the entire even side, Main Street on the Even side.)," Daywalt said.

Up to 7 inches of snow are expected in the area tonight, and the National Weather Service warns of dangerous cold and blowing and drifting snow.

Spring City Mayor Michael Weiss declared a snow emergency effective 9 p.m. through midnight on Friday.

According to Spring City Borough ordinance, the following roads must stay clear: East side of Main Street from Borough Line Road to Bridge Street; Broad Street from Church Street to Borough line; the north side of Hall Street from Main to Church streets; the north side of Chestnut and Walnut streets and Pikeland and Yost avenues from Main to Wall streets; the south side of Poplar street from Main to Cedar street and the north side of  Washington Street from S.&K. to Wall streets.
