Snow Emergencies have been declared for Royersford and Spring City boroughs due to expected weather.

Chief Emergency Management Coordinator Carl Daywalt III announced that a snow emergency has been declared beginning Thursday at 3 p.m.

"Please move all vehicles off of the snow emergency routes (2nd Ave odd side, 5th Ave odd side, Walnut Street in the 800 & 900 blocks, Washington Street the entire even side, Main Street on the Even side.)," Daywalt said.

Up to 7 inches of snow are expected in the area tonight, and the National Weather Service warns of dangerous cold and blowing and drifting snow.

Spring City Mayor Michael Weiss declared a snow emergency effective 9 p.m. through midnight on Friday.

According to Spring City Borough ordinance, the following roads must stay clear: East side of Main Street from Borough Line Road to Bridge Street; Broad Street from Church Street to Borough line; the north side of Hall Street from Main to Church streets; the north side of Chestnut and Walnut streets and Pikeland and Yost avenues from Main to Wall streets; the south side of Poplar street from Main to Cedar street and the north side of  Washington Street from S.&K. to Wall streets.

Mayor Weiss, I wish these directions were given as "even or odd" sides of the street. A lot of people have no clue which side is east or west, north or south.

I agree w/ Mike Hays re: even or odd. Additionally, I think it would be helpful if info like whether or not the Borough is in a state of snow emergency was listed somewhere on the official Spring City Borough website (the Royersford Borough website does). http://www.royersfordborough.org/calendar.php

How about just reading the signs? No one has to tell me to park on the non-sign side. If it snows, just do the right thing and stop blaming the government. You two are not new to the borough meetings. You could have handled this with council a long time ago.
