Royersford Police Commended By New Hanover Chief

Two Royersford police were thanked for assisting during a September shooting incident.

During Tuesday's Royersford Borough Council meeting, Royersford Mayor John Guest read a letter from New Hanover Township police chief Kevin McKeon praising Royersford officers Joseph Oberholtzer and William Murphy.

New Hanover Township officer Michael Coyle came under fire from New Hanover resident Daniel Jobson on the evening of September 15. Coyle called for assistance and approximately 20 police units from the surrounding area, including Oberholtzer and Murphy, responded.

"Their professional manner and bravery in the face of such circumstances sets them apart as a fine example to the community and a credit to your agency," McKeon wrote.
