Vote Recount Starts in Quigley v. Painter Contest

The 146th District representative said the absentee ballots are still being counted.

Rep. Thomas Quigley (R-146) told Patch today that there are still quite a few absentee votes to be counted before the outcome of his race against Mark Painter is determined.

"Its my understanding that they're still counting," Quigley said.

Unofficial results indicated Painter had pulled off an upset victory over Quigley in Tuesday's election by just over 200 votes.

However, due to the delayed deadline to turn in absentee ballots, some votes were not turned in to the county until Monday, November 5.

"We'll know for sure [who won] probably next week," Quigley said.
