Local Students Honored for College Work

Quite a few local students have done well in college this past semester, according to the numerous press releases we receive at Patch! Here is a roundup of the most recent batch of honorees. Congratulations to all of them! 

• Harry Moran, of Spring City, Pa., a Senior Accounting major at Alvernia and a graduate of West-Mont Christian Academy.

• Sarah Warren, of Royersford, Pa., a Senior Nursing major at Alvernia and a graduate of Spring-Ford Senior High School.

• Mary Elizabeth Smith of Spring City, PA, a member of the class of 2016 at Washington and Lee University, has earned dean's list status for the recently ended Fall 2012 term.

• Kelly Kunsch of Linfield, PA, class of 2013, environmental studies major was recognized for academic excellence and achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester at Washington College in Chestertown, MD.

• Garrett Lane Keyser and Cara Gleason Spiess of Spring City both earned Dean’s List honors for the fall term at Juniata College. Keyser is the son of Lane and Margaret Keyser and a 2012 graduate of Owen J Roberts High School.  Spiess is the daughter of Kurt Spiess '88 and P. Colleen Spiess and a 2011 graduate of The Hill School.

• Benjamin Broxterman, Royersford, is among the December graduates of Southwestern College, Winfield, KS.

• Sarah Cespedes of Royersford, PA was named to the Fall 2012 Dean's List at Taylor University.

• Patrick Allison, of Royersford, PA and Alyssa Cortina, of Limerick, PA have been honored for academic achievement by being named to the fall 2012 Dean's List at Delaware Valley College.

• Eric Pizzico of Royersford, a junior Finance major, has been named to the fall 2012 Dean's List at the University of Scranton.

• Kathryn Swartz, a first-year writing studies major, and Konrad Swartz, a junior English major, both from Spring City, were named to the Eastern Mennonite University (Harrisonburg, VA) Dean's List. They are the daughter and son of Tim and Rachel Swartz of Spring City. 

• Elizabeth Ngugi of Limerick and Meredith Shewell of Royersford were named to the Dean's List for fall 2012 at Mansfield University, Mansfield, PA.

• Rebecca Gluck, of Royersford, earned a Master of Science degree in Education from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

• Amanda Desalvo, of Spring City and Nina Kennedy, Megan Mauger, Melissa Pennington, and Patricia Pennington, of Royersford were named to the University of Delaware's Dean's List for Fall 2012.

• Christina Baldino, a elementary education major, and Mandi Rush, a history major, both from Royersford, were named to the Dean's List at Chestnut Hill College in Chestnut Hill, PA.

• Byron Davis, of Spring City, son of Donald and Judith Davis, received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas.

• Mark W. Vandenburg, a finance major from Royersford, and Michael E. Lenge, an accounting major from Spring City, were named to the Coastal Carolina University Dean's List for Fall 2012. 

• Kevin M. Hoffman, a management, marine science major from Spring City, has made the President's List at Coastal Carolina University for the Fall 2012 term.
