MCCC Implements Tuition Hike

A tuition hike for Montgomery County Community College students will affect the 2013-14 school year's tuition.

A tuition increase faces students at Montgomery County Community College. According to a report in the Ambler Gazette, the tuition increases by $13 per credit hour and $5 per credit hour for the technology fee.

"Montgomery County residents will pay $153 per credit hour or $459 per three-credit course, bringing the annual cost for full-time students to $3,672" for students taking 12 credits a semester.

Funding for MCCC comes from the county, state and student tuition, with tuition comprising 55 percent of the annual operating budget.

Hey jxjipper.... What is stupid is graduating High School then having Mommy and Daddy pay outrageous tuition and boarding costs while you party for the first 2 years of college. If you are like most 18 year olds and don't know what you want to do the rest of your life, go to Montco for the first 2 years to satisfy your Core requirements for a fraction of the cost from a University. Then transfer to a school that accepts Montco's credits (Temple for instance) and graduate. Your college diploma will say Temple University (not Montco) and you have 50% less debt. Sounds pretty brilliant to me.

Spud, check out the stats of Montco, not a high percentage finish in 2 years, and fewer then move to a 4 year program AND graduate from the new school...

Those who fail out of Montco would have very likely failed out of a University. That being said, if I am going to fail out I would rather it be Montco...it still costs less. I don't see your point
