This press release was provided by Spring-Ford School District.
The Spring-Ford Area School Board is looking for community members who are interested in fulfilling the district’s mission and grow its educational initiatives after a vacancy opened with the resignation of long-serving member David Shafer.
Shafer served Region 1, which encompasses Upper Providence Township - Mingo 1 and 2, Mont-Clare, Oaks and Trappe. Board members are seeking an interested candidate from the same region, who is at least 18-years-old and has resided in the district for at least a year.
Community members who are interested in applying for the board seat are asked to provide a letter that explains the following questions:
- Why would you like to serve?
- What would you bring to the district?
Applicants are also asked to provide any documentation they feel helps support their candidacy application.
Those responses are due to the district administration office, located at 857 S. Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468-2711 by 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5. Letters are to be made to the attention of Diane Fern. Responses can also be emailed to dfern@spring-ford.net.
The board will meet the week of Oct. 8 to interview qualified candidates. At this time, the public is invited to view the potential candidates’ responses.
Under Pennsylvania law, the district has 30 days to fill the vacancy.
