“Spring-Ford “Golden Ram” Marching Band Scores Big

The Spring-Ford Marching Band caps off the weekend with a Homecoming Bonfire, Homecoming Parade along with the Football team's shutout win over Owen J Roberts in yet another "Special Day!"

On Oct. 23, the Golden Ram Band placed first and were crowned the Tournament of Band Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter Three Champions for the sixth year in a row. Scoring a 94.25 out of 100 points possible, along with honors for High Color Guard, High Percussion, High Music and High Marching, was followed by Pennsbury High School with a score of 90.85 and Avon Grove High School with a score of 89.60 and the winner of High Drum Major. The Band also received a score of 77.80 for its performance.

The 113-member Spring-Ford Marching Band will be the “top seeded” Group 4 Marching Band on Nov. 6 in Hershe at this year's Tournament of Bands 39th Annual Atlantic Coast Championship. There are a total of 17 bands that will be meeting head-to-head for the ACC Title. The Spring-Ford Band has won the Tournament of Bands ACC Grand Championship title in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010 and hope to add yet another title this year.

School board president Joseph Ciresi and vice president Tom DiBello, along with Dan Rowe the President of the Spring-Ford Music Boosters, handled the presentation of the awards at this year's championship held at Spring-Ford High School.
