Spring-Ford Schools Update

The 9th Grade Center is back online; other schools are still being repaired.

A Spring-Ford district spokesman told Patch in a phone call that the district is still assessing damage from yesterday's transformer failure at the four schools on Lewis Road.

Upper Providence Elementary School, the 5th/6th/7th Grade Center, the 9th Grade Center, and Spring-Ford Area High School were all affected.

"The four transformers that went down are now up," the spokesman said. "The 9th Grade Center is back online. Crews are still working on the rest of the schools to get the power back."

The spokesman also said the electrical equipment in the affected schools is being tested to make sure there was no damage.

"Dr. Goodin is hopeful there will be school tomorrow," the spokesman said.
