Western Center Gearing Up for Flower Sale

Yet another project by the Environmental Design department

The Environmental Design department at the is hosting its annual fresh flower sale for Valentine's Day. Teacher Barbara Mueller said the sale will be taking place this Monday and Tuesday and the department is currently gathering order forms from customers both inside and outside of the building.

"Students are collecting orders from their home schools and their teachers," Mueller said.

The three sending schools are , Upper Perkiomen and Lower Pottsgrove. The kids do year-round flower arrangements as a part of the program.

The sale includes pink roses, red roses, orange/yellow roses, a dozen long-stem roses boed with greens and filler flowers, half a dozen long-stem roses with greens and filler flowers, pink carnations, red carnations, white carnations, and a bouquet of mixed flowers priced by the stem.

"It's just a matter of educating the public of our store," said Mueller. "We did well with our Christmas sale. We made over 100 wreaths, grave blankets, center pieces and flower arrangements."

The team also has a few teddy bears and plush toys. Mueller said she hopes there will be no leftovers, as she tries to order what the school usually needs.

Pickup and sales can be done between 8 and 10:30 a.m., and again from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mueller said all of the flowers are from Columbia.
