Spring-Ford Boys Golf Wins PAC-10 Title

The boys golf team wins the team's first championship since 2002.

Spring-Ford's boys golf team won the Pioneer Athletic Conference championship last week, defeating Boyertown 191-203.

The Pottstown Mercury reports that the team's number one player, John Foley, struggled a bit in the final with a 10-over 45, but in a display of teamwork, the next four players on the roster handed in scores in the 30s.

On the par-35 course, Matt Keim and Jack Andrews both scored 36; Bennett Detweiler shot a 38; Eric Rowell shot a 39; Tyler Eckman had a 43; Dan Wolbach had a 45; and Brandon Blackburn shot a 42.

With only one senior in the top five players, “It shows we’ve got a good team right now and we’re going to have a pretty good team next year as well," sophomore Matt Keim told the Mercury.
