January 2014 Events at The State

Located just minutes away, The State Theatre of Boyertown is becoming known as an up-and-coming music venue. The 101-year-old theatre located in the heart of Boyertown hosts local  musical talent each week along with showing a weekly movie.

Upcoming events are posted on the theatre’s website: http://statetheatreboyertown.com/. Tickets for all shows can be purchased online with a discount if purchased before the day of the show, at the box office each night from 6 to 7:30 p.m., or by calling the theatre at 610-367-4737.
 
Coming in January:
1.         Friday, January 10 - R&B Band “Main Street”
Main Street will perform an R&B Concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at The State Theatre of Boyertown, 61 N. Reading Ave. Their last concert at The State was sold out and we brought them back for a second show.
Main Street delivers cool & catchy upbeat rhythms with strong honest ballads produce a gutsy delivery of then & now. Main Street turns you loose with a classic variety of R&B, Soul/Funk and of course Rock & Roll with a personal twist! It’s the songs you know the words to!
 Concert begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $10 (Discount for advance purchase) or $15 day of concert.
 
2.         Tuesday, January 14 - Boy Band “Diverse Pop Group”
 
On Tuesday, January 14 at 7 p.m., the boy band “Diverse Pop Group” brings their electrified pop sound to the historic State Theatre of Boyertown, 61 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown.
The duo of Eddie, 20, and Zach, 19, has performed off-Broadway, in commercials, movies and television. Their music video “When the Beat Drops” won Best Video at the 2012 Indie Channel Awards in Hollywood.
Concert begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets to the concert are $7 in advance or $10 the day of the show.
 
3.         Tuesday, January 28 – Christian Rock Band Epiphany
Epiphany will perform a Christian Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28 at The State Theatre of Boyertown, 61 N. Reading Ave. It’s wholesome family entertainment with a Christian flair.
In the fall of 2010, a local band formed at St. Joseph's Hill Lutheran Church and introduced "Epiphany" to their worship. Starting locally and performing in many charity concerts the band's repertoire consists of contemporary Christian song covers and originals. Over the past several years, their Christian roots have strengthened this group of six, and they are eager to share their musical talent with the rest of the world.
The opening band, "Grace" is a fresh contemporary Christian praise band in its second year of bringing harmony to the members of New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church, where they lead worship once a month. Together with "Epiphany," they will provide an evening of wholesome family music to enjoy.
Concert begins at 7p.m. Doors Open at 6:30 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the Boyertown Music Program via the Boyertown Music League. Tickets are $7 in advance or $10 day of concert.

 4.         Friday, January 31 - Award winning Philadelphia area native Christine Havrilla

Award winning Philadelphia area native Christine Havrilla will be performing her "Neofunkadelicfolkpoptwangrock" at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at the State Theatre of Boyertown, 61 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, accompanied by Gretchen Schultz on percussion & vocals in a special up close and personal duo show!

Michaela Majoun at 88.5 WXPN applauds her "terrific, big sound” while Philadelphia Magazine states, “She rocks!”

The concert begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 (Discount for advance purchase) or $15 day of concert.
