Spring-Ford Masonic Lodge Holds First-Ever Meeting

The Royersford and Spring City lodges have been merged.

The first-ever meeting of the Spring-Ford Masonic Lodge No. 553 was held on Thursday evening at the Royersford Masonic Lodge building, after two area lodges were merged.

The merger of the Spring City Masonic Lodge No. 553, constituted in 1978,  and the Royersford Masonic Lodge No. 585, constituted in 1891, formed the Spring-Ford Masonic Lodge.

Free Masonry is the world’s oldest fraternal organization and and is philanthropic; in this area the Free Masons have contributed to many causes, from sponsoring youth sports to providing assistance to families in need.

Robert J. Bateman, The Right Worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania and Thomas Gamon, The Right Worshipful Junior Grand Warden were in attendance at the meeting.  

The elected officers of Spring-Ford Lodge are Gary S. Pletcher-Worshipful Master, Barry S. Millard-Senior Warden, Richard Storms-Junior Warden, Edward Cummins-Secretary and Keith H. Meitzler, Past Master-Treasurer.

Spring-Ford Lodge No. 553, meets the first Thursday of the month at 7:30pm in Royersford, PA.
