Spring-Ford Rotary Changes Leadership, Honors Local Businessman at Annual Dinner

Chris Benedict was sworn in as the incoming president, an former president Barry was honored; Lew Deery of Zuber Realty was named 'Citizen of the Year'

The Rotary Club of the Spring-Ford Area held its changeover dinner on July 17, as outgoing club president Barry Shafer welcomed incoming president Christopher Benedict and Lew Deery was honored as 'Citizen of the Year.'

“The event gives the outgoing president an opportunity to say thank you to all of the rotary members for their hard work throughout the past year,” said Sheafer.

The organization also surprised long-time Rotarian Deery with the “Citizen of the Year” award.

Deery went to school in Royersford and spent years with Potts Oil Company before getting involved with real estate; he has been heavily involved in the rotary, and in the Spring-Ford community, for years.
