GOP Blocks Vote on HR520

The resolution asks for an investigation into Governor Corbett's handling of the Sandusky case.

This press release was sent in by Mike Hays, a candidate for the 26th District in the House of Representatives. On Wednesday in Harrisburg, Rep. Tim Hennessey and Republican leadership showed that they are more interested in protecting their own than protecting children in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The GOP blocked a vote on HR 520, a resolution urging an investigation by the U.S. Attorney General's office into Gov. Corbett's handling of the Jerry Sandusky investigation. Mike Hays, Democratic candidate for the 26th state representative seat, said: “The truth matters. And what could be more important than uncovering the truth in one of the worst child sexual abuse scandals of modern times?” “The Republicans in Harrisburg abandoned …

The resolution by DeLuca, and sponsored by his Democrat buddies was a political smear, so of course no one reputable is associated with it. Mr. Hays is very left-wing, even extreme in his views, and would do well in urban areas, like Philly.   more ›

OP-ED: The Harrisburg Bait and Switch

Democratic Candidate for 26th District State Representative Mike Hays ways in on some issues.

Courtesy Mike Hays: A national election year is upon us, and Republicans are once again saying they want “to take America back.” Judging by the actions of Republicans in Harrisburg, they want to take women back to a time when they had less choice in their personal health decisions. During the last election, we all listened as the radicals ran on "jobs, jobs, jobs," yet once they took control in Harrisburg, they pulled the old 'bait and switch' on us. Since taking office, their attention has not been focused on the priority of job creation. Instead, these radicals have made numerous attacks on the health and reproductive rights of women. For example, Pennsylvania House Bill 1077, shrouded with the Orwellian title of the “Woman's Right to …

"Invasive ultrasound". Perhaps Mr. Hays would like to consult a obstetrician before continuing to use the word "invasive" in this context. An abortion, on the other hand, definitely qualifies as an "invasive" procedure. Do I support Bill 1077? Not really, because when in doubt, I oppose additional legislation that usually serves to increase the size and power of government. But I doubt that's the…   more ›

Hays Running for 26th House Seat in Light of Court Decision

The Associated Press reports that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has thrown out the assembly redistricting plan.

According to an Associated Press Report, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has thrown out the state assembly's redistricting plan calling the plan "contrary to law." According to the Associated Press, "The justices voted 4-3 to send the plan back to the Legislative Reapportionment Commission, and the majority said their opinion in the case, laying out the reasoning, would be released later." Spring City Councilman Mike Hays (D) announced last week that he would be running for the open seat in the 155th District, which had been newly redrawn to include Spring City, East Pikeland, East Brandywine, West Brandywine, Uwchlan, Upper Uwchlan, West Vincent, and parts of Phoenixville. But, on Wednesday, the Pa. Supreme Court ruled that the new …
