Bad Tequila? Liquor Control Board Issues Voluntary Recall

1800 Tequila recalled due to glass fragments.

In an alert to consumers, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board Friday announced a voluntary product recall for three types of tequila, according to a news release. Due to "potential glass particles in the bottle," the LCB recalled 1800 Tequila 1.75 Liter Silver, Reposado and Coconut. "It is believed the percentage of affected bottles is low and there have been no reports of consumer injuries," the LCB said. Parent company Agavera Camichines said 1800 Tequila could have been potentially damaged "during transportation and handling to glass stoppers in the bottle may have caused the presence of small particles of glass that could pose a health risk." The LCB said customers should compare the Lot Code on the bottle's side to the list below—…

State Police To Conduct Weekend Sobriety Checkpoint

Checkpoint will be located somewhere in the western portion of the county between July 6 and July 9

If you're going to imbibe this Independence Day Weekend, you may want to think twice about driving. The Pennsylvania State Police have issued a report stating that they will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in western Montgomery County between July 6 and July 9. Though the exact location was not released, the report did indicate that the location is "considered a high-risk area." "Sobriety checkpoints are held to reduce alcohol related crashes resulting in injuries, death and property damage," the report states. "The State Police encourage all motorists to make the right decision and not attempt to operate a motor vehicle after consuming alcoholic beverages or controlled substances." Get 'Patch'd'!

Local business owner creates the official drink of Patch.

Local business owner Chris Gimaro, of Gimaro Seafood and Steakhouse in Montgomeryville, recently concocted a delicious new drink recipe inspired by the team behind the Montgomery County region of Patch. The drink, which Gimaro has dubbed "Patch'd", features a tasty mixture of Sour-Apple Pucker Vodka mixed with none-other-than a Monster energy drink. "I know you guys are always busy with writing and reporting, so it was important to mix it with an energy drink," said Gimaro. "After all that hard work though, you'll need something stronger to unwind, so I tossed in some apple vodka." Limerick and Royersford Police Blotter

A look at the recent police activity in Limerick and Royersford.

The Limerick Township Police Department logged 162 incidents between July 18 and 24. Of the incidents, 22 were deemed false alarms. Among the calls to which the police responded were the following incidents of note. Solstice Sunglasses at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets saw another theft on July 22 around noon. Responding officer Christopher Wienczek was dispatched to the outlets when a clerk witnessed a male wearing a black shirt walk into the left corner of the store, remove the security strip from a pair of sunglasses and put them in his Oakley bag. The male then allegedly walked out of the store without paying for the glasses. Surveillance footage showed three males leaving the outlets and getting into a black Honda Civic. One of the …
