After some serious surgery, Montco Mommy wants to share her stories for more reasons than one.
That’s right. I’m back in the saddle again. It’s been a long time coming, but I’m happy to announce the return of Montco Mommy. During the summer of 2012, I decided to take a break to enjoy more time with my children. They were off. We had many planned trips to the beach, to see family, camping. It was a whirlwind of a summer. It was a smart decision. My time is spread so thinly and the column seemed to be something I did largely for my own enjoyment. It hadn’t occurred to me that it would be missed. I, of course, aim to help other parents by venting my frustrations, offering my two cents and minimally showing you that nobody’s perfect and crazy things do happen all the time, to all parents! As the children went back to school (pre-K and …

Got something to say? Tell us in your very own Patch blog.
Limerick-Royersford-Spring City Patch is looking for local voices to blog on our site. We want people who can riff on a variety of topics, share their personality and engage the Spring-Ford community in discussions. Patch is more than a news site, it's an online conversation about your community. And we want to hear your voice. Then, we want to hear from you. This isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say when you want to say it and do it on your own schedule. You can post multiple times a day, once a week or several times a month. It's up to you! Patch won't own what you post, so you can repost your entries to and from your Wordpress and Tumblr account. Much like The Huffington Post has done, Patch is providing …

We've been handing out awards all month long after collecting YOUR votes. Here's our newest winner!
Not many people know this, but Patch was not formed to be an "online newspaper." And although it can sometimes seem as though it is, the company as a whole envisions Patch in an entirely different way. It's hard for me to remember the many things I learned in my high school years (and I'm only 25!), but I was a big history buff, especially world history. As a matter of fact, one of my favorite teachers of all time was a world history teacher at my alma mater: Delran High School in New Jersey. We learned many things, including Greek and Roman culture. I think Patch was envisioned to be the modern day Roman Forum. The Roman Forum was "local central" back in the day - a place where people gathered to socialize and discuss politics, life and …

Dec. 30 marks LRSC's official one-year anniversary, and we're running special contests in light of the festivities!
This Friday, Dec. 30, marks Limerick-Royersford-Spring City Patch's one-year anniversary. We here at Patch have certainly enjoyed the time we've spent serving as YOUR source for local news, events, places, volunteer opportunities and simply everything local. Most of all, we've enjoyed reading about people in the community just as much as you have, good and bad. So, in light of our anniversary at the end of the week, we want to thank you our readers and you our community members by holding a few special contests throughout the next two weeks. Each day, we're going to review 2011 in a different way, ending with a user-poll in which you can vote for your favorite people in the community. Each category will have six choices overall. The votes …

A local blogger hopes to show the community that no one is perfect, but we can try our best, and many other valuable lessons.
When it comes to Royersford, one cannot help but think of a sense of small community. However, in this 21st century's way of fast living, sometimes we forget about life in our towns. One community resident not only runs a mommy-blog about health and fitness, but hopes to also provide a "Real Life" perspective in Royersford. Andrea Weber of "Real Life in Rofo" describes herself as a people person that wants to be involved in the community. So, given her active lifestyle and the daily grind of taking care of her three children as a stay-at-home mom, she decided it was time to enter the blog-o-sphere and get people talking in the community. Weber has lived in Royersford with her high school sweetheart and now husband for more than 10 years …

We have missed you! You were starting to be the replacement for situation comedy TV that has long gone away! :) I know you don't find these situations funny at the time, but you happen to find humor in it when you write that others relate to. Stay healthy and glad you are back!!!!   more ›
