Rash of Burglaries Has Limerick Police Seeking Public's Help

'The best defense is a concerned neighbor,' Limerick's chief says.

A recent rash of daytime break-ins are being investigated by the Limerick Township Police Department and police are hoping the public can assist in catching the perpetrators.  "Most of us know when our neighbors are home or at work, what car they drive," said Limerick Police Chief Bill Albany. Resident Interrupts Intruder in Limerick Home

The suspected burglar was discovered by the home's owner.

Limerick Township police are investigating a burglary that took place Thursday at around 12:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Benner Road, Limerick.  Police say the break-in was discovered when the resident returned home and noticed a pillowcase on the foyer floor near the front door. The resident heard noises coming from a rear first-floor bedroom and went to investigate. He discovered a black male in the bedroom "ransacking the room," according to the police department.  The resident confronted the intruder, who then jumped out a window that had been previously forced opened by the burglar to gain entry to the house, police said. Police are following several leads in the case.
