Lynn was charged with several counts of endangering children and conspiracy for his alleged role in covering up instances of sexual abuse of children by priests in Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Disgraced ex-Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky was found guilty on 45 counts of child sex abuse Friday night, resulting in an effective life sentence for the 68-year-old. The guilty verdicts include 25 felony counts. Combined, Sandusky could be sentenced to 442 years in prison. Dressed in a brown sports coat, Sandusky immediately was taken into custody and led from the courthouse in handcuffs. The jury—which included many people with close ties to Penn State—deliberated for only 20 hours on 48 charges against Sandusky. A Royersford man was arraigned on Tuesday for allegations of an assault on a 3-year-old
Earl Schlichter, 54 of the 300 block of Main Street in Royersford was arrested on Tuesday for simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, endangering the welfare of a child, and harassment by physical contact, according to Royersford police. Schlichter was taken into custody on Tuesday and arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Walter Gadzicki Jr. Schlichter allegedly assualted a 3-year-old child that is his girlfriend's grandson, according to the police report released by the Royersford Police Department. Officer Mark Smythe confirmed Schlichter and the boy's grandmother live together. The child was taken to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center for treatment and released later on Tuesday evening.
