Spring-Ford honors student musicians

Three students were recognized for their musical achievements prior to the school board meeting on Monday evening.

The school board of the Spring-Ford Area School District honored three students Monday evening for their musical achievements. James Brittain, a senior, successfully auditioned for the All-State Concert Band for the third year in a row. He's headed off to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, where he plans to continue playing tuba in the regimental band. Kayla Dwyer, a sophomore, and Jordan Popky, a junior, both successfully auditioned for the 24-member All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble. They treated the school board meeting's attendees to a performance of a jazz standard. Click the video to enjoy the full rendition of "Smack Dab in the Middle."
