SF Board Committees Take Care of Business

There was a lot of work done in February by board committees in the Spring-Ford Area School District.

The Spring-Ford Area School District board of education met for a work session on Tuesday night at Spring-Ford High School. The meeting was comprised mostly of committee reports, which revealed a tremendous amount of work that was done throughout the month of February. Board President Tom DiBello filled in at the curriculum and technology meetings, which were held earlier in the month. He gave full reports on both.  Telephone system upgrade - There was a long conversation regarding upgrading the current system, which is about three years past its life expectancy. Roche Approved as Assistant Super, High School Curriculum Discussed

Allyn Roche has been named the new assistant superintendent for SFASD. Pat Nugent gives a presentation on what's going on at the high school.

Allyn J. Roche has been named the new assistant superintendent of the Spring-Ford Area School District through a recommendation by superintendent Dr. David Goodin and approved by the board of education on Monday night. "Mr. Allyn Roche, coming from the North Penn school district, he’s here with his wife," Goodin said at the regular business meeting. "We’re so excited to have him. As we went through the interview process, it became very apparent to me that Mr. Roche was the right man for the Spring-Ford Area School District. I’m excited to be able to recommend him to the board." The board voted unanimously on the contract, which gives Roche a salary of $137,000, prorated, with benefits, effective tentatively Oct. 24, 2011 and ending June 30…

We, the parents are victim of bad education system. We hire teachers, buy low-grade curriculum for hundreds of dollars just for the sake of our wards. However, we don’t know whether they are worth of money. Actually, our education system needs to be reformed; it needs more funds too.
