SF Employees Lose 285 Pounds for Charity

Spring-Ford Area School District employees lose 285 pounds in district-wide weight loss challenge that raises money for SNAP.

The following release was submitted by Phil Ellingsworth Jr., representing the Spring-Ford Area School District: LIMERICK — Spring-Ford Area School District employees lost a collective 285.2 pounds over the last three months as part of an annual districtwide weight loss challenge, which also doubled as a fundraiser for SNAP (Students Need an Alternative Party) — the committee that organizes the high school’s annual post-prom party. To participate in the second annual Spring-Ford Weight Loss Challenge, employees agreed to donate $10 to SNAP, and then joined in a competition to see which building’s employees could lose the most weight. SNAP Dancing with the Stars Gallery

A photo gallery of the school event with a fun recap from one of the participants.

The following is a user-recap of Spring-Ford SNAP's Dancing with the Stars event, which was held Jan. 21 at Spring-Ford High School. Jen Capone of Jen Capone Photography provided us with pictures and a short write-up: What fun! I had the opportunity to dance this year with a community business group. Why are we raising money for kids to have a party? Because it keeps parents like myself from feeling that they need to host a post prom party in their home. The students go to a school sponsored event that is full of fun alternatives like food, dancing, movies, food, inflatables and food! Dancing With the Stars brings in about half that budget. And we have a great time doing it. The organizational skills of the people in charge is above and …

The following was sent in by Phil Ellingsworth Jr., representing the Spring-Ford Area School District: LIMERICK — Spring-Ford Superintendent Dr. David Goodin, faculty, school board members and residents are polishing their dancing shoes for SNAP’s annual “Dancing with the Stars” event, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 21 in the Spring-Ford 10-12 Grade Center auditorium, 350 South Lewis Road in Royersford. During this annual event, Spring-Ford’s biggest stars come together for a unified cause and dance the night away to raise money for the district’s Students Need an Alternate Party (SNAP) — an after-prom party that provides students with a safe and fun substitute to other dangerous activities. The “Dancing with the Stars” program — …
