The Casual Gourmet

A local eatery with a loyal following finds a new fan.

            The Casual Gourmet, located just off the intersection of Lewis Rd. and Ridge Pk., delivers a homey atmosphere and solid diner food.  From the outside, the various signs and appearance of the building tell the story of a restaurant in the midst of change.  The menu, filled with diner staples such as pancakes, french toast, omelets, and eggs benedict, is reasonably priced.             I started my meal with a cup of coffee ($1.75) and ordered an omelet with  mushrooms, cheddar cheese, spinach, and sausage ($6.50).  The coffee arrived hot and properly strong.  While not as good as a coffee shop, this was without a doubt a cut above standard diner coffee.  The biggest factor was that they clearly keep fresh pots of coffee at all …
