Too Cold for Water Ice? Not in Royersford!

A long line of eager customers was waiting outside the Limerick Square Rita's despite the chilly temperatures and the wind.

Even though people had to bundle up against the cold wind, they still stood in a long line to get their free Rita's Water ice!  Patch was at the Royersford Rita's at about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon and the line impressively stretched across the patio area in front of Rita's, down the sidewalk, and past the doors of the new Fuji Japanese Restaurant.  Here are some photos of the line!

Free Rita's for the First Day of Spring

Celebrate the First Day of Spring at Rita's in Royersford with free Italian ice!

Rita's stores have been participating in this first day of spring tradition for 20 years, according to their website. Tuesday marked the first day of spring, and for most people, that means one thing: Free Water Ice at Rita's! Now that's something you can look forward to in the cold winter months. Hold on. What? Cold winter months? Didn't happen this year. So it was just a waiting game before free water ice was ours! Some people may not be aware, but in conjunction with the first day of spring promotion, Bev McNutt, owner of the Collegeville, Royersford, Coventry and Phoenixville loactions, has held a Spring to Fight Hunger food drive at her locations to collect non-perishable food items for those in need.
