Did you purchase your ticket for Powerball this past week? If you bought it at the 7-Eleven at 255 W. Horsham Road in Horsham Township, you might be a millionaire. According to the Pennsylvania Lottery website, the weekend's major jackpot of over $338 million was won by a single ticket-holder in New Jersey. But, of the many that matched five of the magical digits, one of those winners is located in Montgomery County. The Horsham 7-Eleven sold a ticket that matched five digits, making its worth now $1 million. According to the website, the owner will have one year to stake his or her claim. The State Police have complied with State Rep. Todd Stephens' request to have mental health records included in a national gun check database.
It took 18 months, but State Rep. Todd Stephens said the Pennsylvania State Police have begun sending the mental health records of people prohibited from buying firearms to a federal database. Stephens (R-151) of Horsham, has been working for a year and a half to prevent what he calls a “loophole” pertaining to the inclusion of mental health records in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). Without that inclusion, Stephens said anyone from Pennsylvania who has been involuntarily committed, or found to be mentally deficient - and thus ineligible to buy firearms - could travel to another state and buy a gun. An outage at a Hatboro Verizon center has temporarily blocked subscribers from calling Montgomery County 911
According to a Pottstown Mercury Facebook post, Verizon Mobile customers are without access to Montgomery County 911. The outage affects about seven municipalities, according to PhillyBurbs: Hatboro, Upper and Lower Moreland, Upper Dublin, Horsham, Abington and Cheltenham. Due to an outage at a Verizon central office in Hatboro at around 8 a.m., customers will be temporarily unable to contact the 911 call center and are instead advised to contact their local police department for emergency assistance. Over in Bucks County at around 8 a.m., the 911 system there was out of service due to maintenance. Those needing emergency assistance were advised to call area police agencies. I know for a fact that all emergency centers including hospitals have back up generators. I find it appaling that the back up generator was not working during a power outage. That is a disgrace! Hopefully verizon will make sure that it is working in future!!   more ›

So right! This is a very huge HIPPA violation and people should write their Senators, Congress etc. opposing the HIPPA violation. Yes, their should be a ban on assault weapons and stricter gun laws, though to very possibley violate innocent mental recipeints is an unfair price.
