Five charities will benefit from fees collected by the Industrial Development Authority.
Members of Limerick Township's Industrial Development Authority presented donations totaling $10,000 to five local non-profit organization on Tuesday evening. The Industrial Development Authority, which began in 2006, exists to help with employment and business development within the township. "We help builders get loans at lower interest rates than most banks," chairman Joseph St. Pedro said. For their help, the IDA collects fees, and then donates those fees back to non-profits in the local area. This year's recipients are Laurel House, the Royersford Area Community Chest, RSVP, Project Outreach and the Montgomery County Foundation.
The Norristown-based domestic violence agency has issued a statement expressing their agreement in the recent denial of Rafael Robb’s early parole.
From Laurel House: "On behalf of our organization’s staff, board members, volunteers, and most importantly, on behalf of victims of domestic violence, we are relieved by the recent news that parole was denied for Rafael Robb," stated Beth Sturman, Executive Director of Laurel House, which is a domestic violence agency located in Norristown. Robb was sentenced in 2008 to serve five to ten years for the brutal murder of his wife, Ellen Robb. After learning that Mr. Robb was granted early release by the State Parole Board, Ellen’s family lead efforts to advocate against his early release. Returning fashion show will benefit a new cause this year.

Absolutely true...there seems to be little balance when a person kills someone...to have a 5-10 year sentence for MURDER? How can that be?To parole that horrible man sends a frightening message to all those being abused.
