Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Situation Crazy

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that Quarterback Michael Vick is returning for another year.

It was the last game of the season, a horrible loss to the New York Giants. And Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick, returning for the first time in more than a month after injury, had once again been battered and bruised. But this time, Vick lashed out: blasting his teammates for a lack of effort and heart. We all thought that was the last Birds fans would ever see of the controversial QB. After all, Vick had spent most of the season injured. And when he was on the field, he was producing too many costly turnovers. He was due a bonus if kept on the roster. And about $15 million if he played next season. So everyone thought Vick would be cut right after the Super Bowl. Well, guess who's back? New coach Chip Kelly made a move that …

Ugly Season Ends for Philadelphia Eagles

Same mistakes – turnovers, terrible tackling, etc. – haunt Philadelphia Eagles in season-ending loss Sunday to New York Giants.

After another ugly loss Sunday, this one a season-ender to the New York Giants, just how long will it take for Philadelphia Eagles Coach Andy Reid to be put out of his misery? He might be gone by the time you read this column. This loss wasn't even worth mentioning the final score, but the Giants put up more than 40 points as the Eagles made the same mistakes they made all year – terrible tackling, turnovers and horrible pass coverage. (Ok, it was 42-7.) Eli Manning looked more like Peyton Manning Sunday, tossing five touchdown passes in a game that the Giants needed to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Reid, on the other hand, was wrapping up his 14th season as coach, and the fans and media and everyone else have been calling for his…

Monday Morning Quarterback

Philadelphia Eagles' Wings Clipped by Cards

The Arizona Cardinals stayed undefeated Sunday by crushing the Philadelphia Eagles 27-6.

The Philadelphia Eagles never had a chance. Right out of the gate, the Birds were dominated by the Arizona Cardinals, who smashed Quarterback Michael Vick the whole game, slashed through the defense and crushed the Eagles 27-6. Which Birds might be for real? It looks like the Cardinals, whose defense manhandled Vick, shut down DeSean Jackson and neutralized Shady McCoy. This was an ugly one. And with the New York Giants next and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons to follow, the 2-1 Eagles need to right the ship before it sinks for the season. Three more turnovers certainly didn't help. Two were killers, when rookie DeMarius Johnson fumbled a punt (which led to Cards' points) and when Vick held on to the ball too …

This Week at Eagles Camp: 'All Business'

The Philadelphia Eagles reported to training camp at Lehigh University this week with hopes of getting back to their winning ways after an "off" season last year.

Editor's Note: This is the first in a weekly report every Friday about the Philadelphia Eagles in training camp at Lehigh University. Those were the words star running back LeSean McCoy used when he reported along with the rest of the veterans of the Philadelphia Eagles to training camp at Lehigh University Wednesday. "It's all business." It's probably the slogan that coach Andy Reid, quarterback Michael Vick and wideout DeSean Jackson are also saying to everyone who will listen. This year, the Philadelphia Eagles need to take care of business. In other words, they need to get back to their winning ways and try and capture that elusive Super Bowl victory that has yet to be blessed upon this franchise. So far, Reid is pleased with the …
