Eighth Grade Center Celebrates National Award
Administrators unveiled a new sign for the front of the school.
Spring-Ford's Eighth Grade Center celebrated its 2012 National Blue Ribbon award with an assembly and a sign unveiling on Thursday afternoon at the school. Several local dignitaries were in attendance, including State Representatives Thomas Quigley (R-146) and Tim Hennessey (R-26) and State Senator John Rafferty (R-44). Members of the school board also attended. Congressman Pat Meehan (PA-07) sent a letter, and Quigley and Hennessey brought greetings from State Representative Mike Vereb (R-150). Spring-Ford Alumni Mike McCoy also spoke. McCoy is currently a senior at LaSalle University and said he credits the education he got at Spring-Ford, from the eighth grade on up, to his success as a student sports broadcaster. Student …
