Your Time to 'Shine' at New Limerick Salon

New hair salon, Shine opens on Ridge Pike.

After 25 years as a stylist, Kelli Angelo, owner of the new Shine Hair Salon in Limerick, has ventured out on her own to explore hair as an artistic and creative outlet. "It's time for me to shine," said Angelo. Angelo told Patch that the head is her canvas and she can change someone's entire look by changing the cut and or color of their hair. She continued that everyone is individual and that "we all have something that makes us shine." Angelo said customer service is very important to her. At Shine one stylist will stay with a client during the whole appointment, and do the shampoo, cut, color, everything. She told Patch that coloring and highlighting are definitely her specialties at Shine. Shine, at 327 Ridge Pike in Limerick, opened …

Great--seriously another salon in the 1 block area of Ridge Pk in Limerick? Not a wise business choice. 1st Salon Nova, then SAS and now Shine? And if we go yet another 1/4 mile in either direction we have Evolve and Erin. Please something other than a salon in Limerick. I wish you luck Shine, trully I do-- but I think another location might have been a better choice.   more ›

Limerick Gift and Garden Plans Grand Opening

The new Limerick Gift and Garden will hold their grand opening on March 23 and 24.

An old friend has a new face on Ridge Pike. Limerick Gift and Garden, formerly Oaks Garden Center, opened on Friday, March 1. The new location, located at 280 Ridge Pike, will not provide the bulk products like the Oaks location, however Dudek said the gift portion of the business will play a more prominent role. Dudek said Limerick just recently rezoned the area of Ridge Pike they moved into for commercial, with the intention for it to be the next Skippack Village, and the family wanted to get into Limerick early. The building they are currently in is over 100 years old and they have restored it and much of the property, as well. …

Downtown Royersford Sees New Family-Run Auto Repair

Willie's Auto and Truck Repair, since 1978, moves from Philly to Royersford in late October

Downtown Royersford is now home to a new automotive repair shop in Willie's Auto and Truck Repair. The family-owned-and-run shop takes over the old Blair's Automotive building, right across from Lebow's Furniture. According to Courtney Baeder, shop-owner Willie Baeder Jr.'s wife, the shop opened in 1978 under the management of Willie Jr.'s father, William Baeder Sr. under the name "Willie's Gulf Service Station." "Willies Gulf was located in the Castor Garden section of the great North East Philadelphia," she said. "In 1996 a much bigger location with zero gasoline was available. We moved four blocks south on Castor Avenue to open Willie's Auto & Truck Repair. In 2009 a local businessman purchased the building. In 2011, Willie's Auto and …
