A Royersford family, whose mother lost her battle with cancer in September, received a special visit from Santa on Saturday night.
With flashing lights bouncing off of Christmas decorations and sirens echoing through the quiet streets of Royersford, a special visitor from the North Pole made a surprise stop on Saturday night to help a local family in need. Professional Santa Dutch Schrap, who - along with his girlfriend, Jennifer - launched the "Operation Nine Reindeer" charity earlier this year, set his sights on spreading some Christmas cheer to a local father and his three adopted children, after their mother lost her battle with cancer in September. A pair of struggling Montco families will soon find themselves on the receiving end of a Christmas miracle, thanks to the efforts of 38-year-old Dutch Schrap, of East Coventry, who has decided to take his professional Santa routine to the next level. The son of the elder Santa Schrap, Dutch has followed in his father's snow-covered footsteps for the past 21 years. He's made appearances everywhere from the Lansdale Mardi Gras Parade to gigs with the Philadelphia Flyers and Sixers, and he's even rung the opening bell at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. my 16 yr old son had the privilege of helping Santa navigate his way through town...he came home with the biggest smile and a heart full of love and peace...this is a fantastic program. i am so glad he had an opportunity to help. this shows that there is still a great deal of magic in Christmas.   more ›
