A Royersford family, whose mother lost her battle with cancer in September, received a special visit from Santa on Saturday night.
With flashing lights bouncing off of Christmas decorations and sirens echoing through the quiet streets of Royersford, a special visitor from the North Pole made a surprise stop on Saturday night to help a local family in need. Professional Santa Dutch Schrap, who - along with his girlfriend, Jennifer - launched the "Operation Nine Reindeer" charity earlier this year, set his sights on spreading some Christmas cheer to a local father and his three adopted children, after their mother lost her battle with cancer in September. A Pottstown area family had a very special visitor on Friday night.
Most people probably panic when fire truck sirens come down their quiet street, but for one North Coventry neighborhood, the sirens heralded a special visitor on a mission. Professional Santa Dutch Schrap brought an early Christmas surprise to a local family on Friday night through an initiative he started this year called Operation Nine Reindeer. Jim and Cathy and their five-year-old daughter Cassie needed some holiday spirit this year - Jim is battling stage 4 brain cancer. He has already endured surgery and is undergoing chemotherapy twice a week. A real-life Santa Claus has taken the initiative to help a pair of struggling Montco families
A pair of struggling Montco families will soon find themselves on the receiving end of a Christmas miracle, thanks to the efforts of 38-year-old Dutch Schrap, of East Coventry, who has decided to take his professional Santa routine to the next level. The son of the elder Santa Schrap, Dutch has followed in his father's snow-covered footsteps for the past 21 years. He's made appearances everywhere from the Lansdale Mardi Gras Parade to gigs with the Philadelphia Flyers and Sixers, and he's even rung the opening bell at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.
