We are asking the community its opinion on empty stores. Here's your chance to express your views.
Last week, we saw a "Visions for Vacancies" success, when we heard VC Dollar was coming to Limerick in one of our former empty storefront locations. I'll be chatting with the owner this week. But, in the meantime, let's continue our series with yet another location. This shop is located on Buckwalter Road and is surrounded by an array of different types of shops. There's a dentist, good will store, a pet shop, a Japanese steak house and a cigar store all in this shopping center, just to name a few. So, what else may be needed here? I think we can definitely rule out food, as there's also a pizza place, an Applebee's, and a Chick-fil-A, too. What about a craft store? Or maybe a discount electronics/gaming store? I was recently searching for…

What would you like to see go here? Our vision for this vacancy wasn't quite accurate, but the storefront will be filled soon.
On May 22, we asked our local residents what they would like to see go in the old "Time 2 Party" spot in the Corropolese strip mall. The storefront is located between Bravo Pizza and Blinds 48. I suggested Philly Soft Pretzel, Einstein Bagels, a smoothie shop or a sushi place. Our readers asked for a tackle store, a gift shop (ie. Apple Basket), Panera Bread, Zoup!, and Subway. Apparently none of us were right! As of last week, a new sign was placed on the building for a "VC DOLLAR." Could this mean we are going to see a new dollar store in the area, locally owned? At this point, we don't know, but we'd love to chat with the new potential tenant. Do you have contact with the business owner? Any further information about VC DOLLAR? Let me …

We'll stay in Limerick this week and find ourselves looking at the old Limerick Produce Store on W. Ridge Pike. This shop is across the street from the Dutch Oven Bakery and next to Vince & Tony's Restaurant. This is one of the more unique storefronts we've seen. We have been to strip malls and shopping centers. We have gone to downtown Royersford. Now, we see a shop with some space around it and some versatility to work with. With a bakery and a restaurant in the vicinity, what makes the most sense here? Personally, I think a good Indian restaurant would definitely be a great addition to the area and this might be a good fit. A Saladworks would also be nice, but is this space appropriate there? Or, I could be stretching this a bit, but …

This week we'll head to a strip mall in Limerick and ask your opinion on what new and exciting business you'd like to see in our area. Familiarize yourself with Ridge Pike in Limerick. Do you know where Dunkin Donuts is? How about Franklin's? Make that right onto Kugler Road and see the shopping center behind it. That is where this week's empty storefront rests. This is the old "Time 2 Party" location. The shop sits between Bravo Pizza and Blinds 48. Looking inside the windows of the shop, I saw a big empty space with a colorful floor. You know what that means? A lot of potential for any kind of store. You can literally put anything in here - the sky is the limit. So let your imagination run wild, folks! I was thinking this might be a good…

We are asking the community its opinion on empty stores. Here's your chance to express your views.
There has been an obvious outcry in the area for a wider variety of grocery stores. From Shop Rite to Bottom Dollar (last week's suggestion for the old Rite Aid in Limerick) to the world-famous Trader Joe's, comments have poured in with that very desire. This week, we will take a look at a shopping center that already has a grocery store... We're in Limerick where the Giant, Kohl's and Marshall's sit and we want to know what you want to see in the old Blockbuster space! The Blockbuster closed last summer and has sat vacant ever since. With your regular grocery and department stores already occupying the immediate area, and lots of fast food and chain restaurants right down the road, we want to know what you think fits best in this space. …

We are asking the community its opinion on empty stores. Here's your chance to express your views.
Last week, we fielded your thoughts on the old Acme location on Ridge Pike. Many people saw the need for a Trader Joe's, but we also heard a few requests for Shop Rite and even a Dave and Busters! This week, we're staying on Ridge Pike and taking a look at the old Rite Aid location on the corner of N. Lewis Road and Ridge. See the above photo to refresh your memory. The store has sat vacant for quite some time, and in my personal opinion, it's pretty good real estate. Looking at the surrounding area, across the road, you'll see Kelly's WorldClass Automotive and Hillbilly BBQ. Perpendicular, we have Rascal's Fitness, Piazza Presto, and a Chinese takeout. So, what makes the most sense over here? Does a restaurant make sense? It will provide …

Well, the moment has finally arrived. The moment that you've all been seemingly waiting for. Is it obvious? See the above photo. Residents, citizens and other interested parties have been begging for a Trader Joe's, possibly in this location, or basically anywhere it will fit. So, for this week's segment, we take a look at the old Limerick Acme located off of Ridge Pike. The store has been closed for about a year now with no major signs of activity. What makes this an appealing spot for a Trader Joe's? The size of the store? The fact that it can handle another grocery outlet? Is another type of store more appropriate here? What would you like to see go here? Tell us what you think and why. I have a feeling this is going to be a well-…

We are asking the community its opinion on empty stores. Here's your chance to express your views.
We continue this week with our public opinion segment on empty storefronts. We're heading back to downtown Royersford, where we once visited the G.T. McKissic & Sons location. There is yet another empty storefront right next door. This one is the old hardware store. Our readers had an interesting take on the location next door. Some wanted to see a bakery, while others hoped for a book store. Even further, others suggested a Starbucks or an Internet cafe. To compliment those options, what do you want to see go in this spot? If a bakery, bookstore, Starbucks or Internet cafe is next door, is there a good neighbor to fit at the old hardware store? Or does Royersford need the return of its own little hardware shop? Not many people have …

We continue this week with our public opinion segment on empty storefronts. We're heading back over to the Amelia's Shopping Center, where we once visited the old Chic Snyder's spot. There is yet another empty storefront in this shopping center. This one is closer to the Dollar Store. I'm not really sure what would fit here, as the unit is not quite as "noticible" as ones we've featured in the past. The sign on the building says it is 2,075 square feet. The possibilities could be endless with your thoughts! What do you want to see go here? A lot of people have suggested the need for a new local bakery in the past, but what about a specialty butcher of sorts? Or, how about a sushi takeout place? I've also heard requests for a Saladworks in …

We continue this week with our public opinion segment on empty storefronts. We're heading back to Limerick in the shopping center that features Rascal's Fitness and Piazza Presto. We recently featured the end unit of this shopping center, to which suggestions rolled in for Trader Joe's, Monkey Joe's, Raising Cane's, Panera Bread, Chuck E. Cheese, Modell's, etc. Now, let's take a look at the unit between Erin's Salon Etc and Rascal's, which was a dry cleaner. I'm not really sure what would fit here besides a dry cleaner, as it's all I've known the place to be. There is some construction going on there, so the dry cleaner may return, or something else. So, let's dream... What do you want to see go here? A new coffee shop? A book store? How …

I would love to see a farmers market go in there, maybe something like the one in Strafford or even the one in Bird-in-Hand. That way many local businesses could participate and bring all the wonderful local fare to one location.   more ›
