Limerick Township Honors Eagle Scout, More on Ridge Pike Development

A local teen completed a playground project and received homage at Tuesday's Board of Supervisors meeting. The board also revisited discussions on Ridge Pike.

Justin Gould, a local Spring-Ford student, attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was honored by the Limerick Township Board of Supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting. Gould is a member of Boy Scout Troop 10, which meets at St. James United Church of Christ on S. Limerick Road. His project involved the refurbishing of a playground area at St. James Lutheran Church. Under Gould’s direction, the grass area was replanted, wood chips were laid down and the equipment was cleaned up. Supervisor Elaine DeWan also congratulated Gould on attaining membership in the Order of the Arrow. The Order of the Arrow is one of the highest honors awarded in scouting. Ridge Pike To See Makeover, Transportation Impact Fee Discussed

Limerick Township's Board of Supervisors heard lots to do about the streets in town.

The Limerick Township Board of Supervisors heard two presentations on traffic/transportation and new development at Tuesday night's meeting and was visibly pleased with both presentations. The first presentation came in the form of a public hearing on Act 209, which concerns the Transportation Impact Fee Ordinance. The presentation was given by highway design engineer Joe Platt of Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. in Pottstown. The Act 209 committee reconvened in January 2011 and worked all the way up until now to put together the new transportation service areas (TSA) that were seen on Tuesday night. Platt indicated that the last ordinance was set in 2001 and resets every 10 years. Therefore, the new ordinance would take effect from 2011-…
