Alleged Arson, Dance Competition, YMCA Benefit Among Local News

A look back at some stories you may have missed in the Spring-Ford area during the past week.

Royersford Fire Intentionally Set, Police Say A Royersford resident was arrested and charged with arson after an apartment fire on Sunday, March 24. Spring Valley YMCA Family Fun Day Benefits Autism Speaks The Freedom Valley YMCA Spring Valley branch, located at 19 W. Linfield Road in Limerick, will host the second-annual Family Fun Day on April 6, 2013, benefitting Autism Speaks. 5-6-7 Center Team Boogies Off with Trophy An exciting and fun Dancing With the Stars competition benefited SNAP, the post-prom party organization at Spring-Ford Area High School.  SFYAL Hopes to Start Field Project This Summer The growing Spring-Ford Youth Athletic League plans some changes to their field and their program this year.

5-6-7 Center Team Boogies Off with Trophy

The group of teachers and administrators won the overall award as well as a People's Choice award with their performance of 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia.'

Spring-Ford SNAP put on a fantastic show on Saturday with its third annual Dancing with the Stars presentation.  This year, SNAP did two shows, and both shows were packed with hundreds of fans.  The 5-6-7 Burning Temptations took home the Mirror Ball Trophy overall prize as well as winning the People's Choice Award during the afternoon show.  The People's Choice Award for the 7:30 p.m. show went to the Spring-Ford Moms.  The Judges' Choice Award for the highest point total went to The Sizzling Senora and the Fiery Frenchie during the afternoon show and to Teachers with 'Tude at the evening show.  Enjoy our gallery of photos from the afternoon show!

SNAP Dancing with the Stars: Meet the Teams Part 4!

Two more teams who are competing in the fundraising contest are featured today.

Two more "Dancing with the Stars" teams are featured on Patch tonight: the Spring-Ford Moms and Let the Rhythm Change Your World! The Spring-Ford Moms are one of the largest dance groups in this year's contest. They'll be dancing to a musical montage choreographed by Weddai, and they're sponsored by Vantage Landscaping. Let The Rhythm Change Your World is a two-person team of administration staffer melissa Albitz and Stephen Jackson. Jackson is choreographing the routine and they'll be dancing to "On the Floor."  We have four more teams to feature, and you can still go to SNAP's website to vote! SNAP Dancing with the Stars: Meet the Teams Part 2!

Two more Dancing with the Stars teams are featured today!

Here are two more of the teams going for the trophy during Spring-Ford SNAP's annual "Dancing with the Stars" contest! Our next set of teams are Brooke Brings the Bling and The Sizzling Senora and a Fiery Frenchie. Brooke Brings the Bling hails from Brooke Elementary School. They'll be dancing to "Gangnam Style/Single Ladies", choreographed by Kelly Stento. They are sponsored by Three Peas in a Pod.  The Sizzling Senora and a Fiery Frenchie are two language teachers, Rachael Munoz and Jaclyn Brown. Thank you so much for featuring all our teams for the Dancing with the Stars event. Without all the hard of all the dance teams the event would not be a success!
