School Board Honors Band and 2 PAC-10 Champs

The board also heard a presentation on food service in the district and guidance counseling for students.

The Spring-Ford School Board started off Monday's meeting by celebrating the accomplishments of the marching band, two sports teams and the recently-honored 8th Grade Center.  The Golden Rams Marching Band was recognized for its October Tournament of Bands championship. Band director Seth Jones thanked the band parents, the administration, the board and the members of the community for their support.  "This is their fourth consecutive championship," Jones said. "I'm so proud of their hard work." The band presented a signed copy of the score to the new Spring-Ford fight song, "Fight On Rams", to the board as a thank you gift, then performed the song for the meeting's audience. A Noteworthy Debut

Spring-Ford Rams previewed the marching season and introduced their new director and new fight song.

Friends and family crowded into Coach McNelly Stadium on Thursday night to catch a glimpse of what the Spring-Ford Rams marching bands have been working on since band camp began.  First up on the field was the 7th and 8th grade center marching band. Director Kris Jennings said that for a lot of these kids, this is their first introduction to marching band.  "They started playing on August 7, and stepped on a field for the first time on August 16," Jennings said. The 7th/8th band's theme for this year is "Dance Music for the Decades". Their show included "Gimme Some Lovin'" by the Spencer Davis Group, "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder, "Apache" by the Incredible Bongo Band, and "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO.
