The 146th District representative said the absentee ballots are still being counted.
Rep. Thomas Quigley (R-146) told Patch today that there are still quite a few absentee votes to be counted before the outcome of his race against Mark Painter is determined. "Its my understanding that they're still counting," Quigley said. Unofficial results indicated Painter had pulled off an upset victory over Quigley in Tuesday's election by just over 200 votes. However, due to the delayed deadline to turn in absentee ballots, some votes were not turned in to the county until Monday, November 5. "We'll know for sure [who won] probably next week," Quigley said.

Rep. Thomas Quigley isn't conceding his contest against Mark Painter just yet.
While unofficial results from Montgomery County are showing that Mark Painter upset incumbent Rep. Thomas Quigley in yesterday's election, The Pottstown Mercury reports that Quigley isn't ready to give up. According to the Mercury, there are possibly a thousand absentee votes left to be counted. Quigley said that the deadline extension caused by last week's hurricane resulted in many absentee votes being held by the county. Those votes will be counted beginning on Friday. Mark Painter's campaign manager was "cautious but confident," according to the article. "We feel pretty good. State Representative Tom Quigley supports harsher punishments for repeat offenders in retail theft.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission held two public meetings on Thursday - one at 2 p.m. and one at 7 p.m. - to present the license renewal process of nuclear reactors and to hear comments from the public. As a part of the renewal process, the NRC is required to hear the public's opinions and consider them in the approval or denial of nuclear reactor license extensions. Limerick Generating Station's nuclear reactors have licenses good through 2024 and 2029 respectively, so the renewal would extend the use of those reactors through 2044 and 2049. There are 104 reactors in the United States and 71 are approved for renewal, while 13 (including the two at Limerick) are under review. Overall, the public honed 30 presentations - a few that were …
