Local libraries and schools invite Curtis Jobling, author of the Wereworld Series, to help youth become readers for life.
Werewolves, Werelions and even Wereboars will soon make their way to Montgomery County, as Wereworld Series author Curtis Jobling pays a visit to local libraries, schools and the Towne Book Center in Collegeville. “The idea is to help create readers for life,” Kit Little, Towne Book Center marketing director, said. “It’s a unique experience.” Wereworld Series According to the Wereworld series website, Jobling has created a fantastic world filled with shape-shifting people, one of whom is a teen werewolf, who finds himself involved in a struggle to regain his homeland from a tyrant werelion king. Actor Tony Danza visited Ursinus College to reflect on his year teaching in Philadelphia, the resulting book, and to share own ideas for education reform.
When you've starred in sitcoms, talk shows, stage and film, the obvious next career step is…teaching high school in Philadelphia? For "Who's the Boss?" star Tony Danza, it was. Danza spent 2009 teaching 10th grade at Northeast High School in Philadelphia, and has written a book about it - "I'd Like to Apologize To Every Teacher I Ever Had: My Year as a Rookie Teacher at Northeast High." Danza was brought to Ursinus College by the Towne Book Center in Collegeville to meet with fans and sign books. Governor Rendell will new promote his first book at the Providence Town Center from noon- 2 pm this Saturday
Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell will hold a book signing event on Aug. 25 at the Towne Book Center, formerly the Trappe Book Center, to promote his book "A Nation of Wusses: How America's Leaders Lost the Guts to Make Us Great." Rendell, who has stopped in the area previously to promote the book, will visit the book store, located in the Providence Town Center, from noon to 2 pm to meet with fans and sign books. Collegeville Mom, I love you and your fair assessment. I saw this man come home late, drained and desperste for a way to "reach the kids". He is an extremely intelligent well versed man. He had a true passion for what he was teaching..truly knew the classics these kids were reading and tried to get through to them.
