The control box for the traffic signals at Ridge Pike and Township Line Road was damaged in a Saturday morning accident
Last updated 2:53 p.m. Saturday The traffic signals at Township Line Road and Ridge Pike were disabled early Saturday by a traffic accident that heavily damaged the control box for the intersection, Upper Providence Police confirmed Saturday afternoon. "It took out the entire intersection," Upper Providence Officer Jeffrey Hilt said. The accident was believed to have occurred between 5:30 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. Hilt said that technicians from Armour & Sons were awaiting the arrival of a new control box. He estimated that the traffic signals would be restored between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Saturday. Earlier Saturday, workers could be seen attempting to repair the original control box. Brian Clarke was hurt on Township Line Road on Wednesday night
Despite information on social media to the contrary, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania said on Friday afternoon that the teenaged victim of an accident on Township Line Road on Wednesday night remained in critical condition at the hospital. Hospital spokesperson Greg Richter told Patch that 16-year-old Brian Clarke remained in critical condition as of 3:40 p.m. Friday.

Night Crash Victim Identified ____________________________ Last updated 12:54 a.m. Thursday A 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter after being struck by a car on Township Line Road in Limerick on Wednesday night. The accident took place near the intersection with Spring Lake Road at about 10 p.m. Limerick Fire Company Chief Ken Shuler said the victim was airlifted to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I'm curious about this incident. Was the teen riding his bike on the wrong side of the road? Was he wearing a helmet? Was he using earphones at the time? Was it after dark, and if so, was the bicycle equipped with a front light and a rear reflector or tail light. All of these would be violations of state law (the helmet is age dependent) which would put the cyclist at fault. Police do not enforce…   more ›
