Royersford National Night Out Approved

The August event will be held on 4th and Washington

National Night Out co-chair J.R. Bach was at the April 24 Royersford Borough Council meeting to request road closures for the annual event, which will be the third year for the borough of Royersford. "As a church, we are again taking part in the annual National Night Out event, which is held the first Tuesday of August every year," he explained. National Night Out is a nationwide community awareness day, encouraging citizens to do the right thing when it comes to crime and drugs. Nationally, the event will be in its 29th year. Locally, this year's event will be August 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. Bach indicated setup would begin at 2:30 p.m. He requested road closures on Washington Street from 3rd to 4th Avenue. Royersford Wastewater Sees Improvement

A recap of Tuesday night's borough council meeting.

The Royersford Borough Council met for its regular meeting on Tuesday night and discussed committee reports. Most importantly, wastewater matters were discussed, as well as the ongoing desire to redo the basketball courts at Victory Park. Wastewater Committee Chairman Ken Wadsworth gave his report for the month, which revealed many upgrades around the community. Wadsworth reported that all items were within monthly limitations that were tracked. Corrective actions were taken on the flow meters, which were installed at a cost of $20 thousand. Pump monitors at Green Street Pump Station were installed for $5,000. The 10th Avenue Pump Station storm drainage and pump wet well were fixed to prevent inflow, costing $16 thousand.
