Downtown Royersford Sees New Family-Run Auto Repair
Willie's Auto and Truck Repair, since 1978, moves from Philly to Royersford in late October
Downtown Royersford is now home to a new automotive repair shop in Willie's Auto and Truck Repair. The family-owned-and-run shop takes over the old Blair's Automotive building, right across from Lebow's Furniture. According to Courtney Baeder, shop-owner Willie Baeder Jr.'s wife, the shop opened in 1978 under the management of Willie Jr.'s father, William Baeder Sr. under the name "Willie's Gulf Service Station." "Willies Gulf was located in the Castor Garden section of the great North East Philadelphia," she said. "In 1996 a much bigger location with zero gasoline was available.
