Lock Up! More Than 20 Thefts in Upper Providence in February

Local police remind residents to remove valuables from vehicles to prevent theft.

Upper Providence Township Police kindly remind the area's residents to not leave valuables in vehicles overnight. They have good reason to issue the warning. More than 20 items have been taken in recent weeks from cars in the township. According to a police report issued on Tuesday, an unknown person or persons entered vehicles in the Collegeville section of the township entered multiple vehicles removing a black iPod nano and several GPS devices. The cars were all unlocked and showed no signs of forcible entry. The department estimates that more than 20 thefts have occurred from area vehicles in Upper Providence during February alone. Anyone with information is asked to call the department at 610-933-7899. In the meantime, Detective …

We have the same problem where we live. We do not leave any valuables in our car. My friends have learned not to, either. When we first moved where we live, it was a great neighborhood. Now, it is a Neighborhood Watch neighborhood. A lot of nice people have moved out. Someone tried to break in our house in the middle of the night, a while back. My husband happened to be up and heard him and …   more ›

A Week of Typical February Weather Ahead

After the last "grip" of the weekend cold shot, the rest of the week's weather will be typical for the middle of February...not too mild, not too cold.

Many places here in the burbs over the past week picked up between two and four inches of snow with the two pittances of snow that tracked through the region.
