January's shaping up as a volatile month in the weather realm. Temperature roller coasters, soaking rains, and more seem to be the theme of the coming month's weather.
For more local weather reports, visit Phillyweather.net There's quite a lot in the weather realm that's being made of the potential for a pattern flip later on this week. In some respects, the pattern this winter changed about two weeks ago from a generally mild pattern to one with wild oscillations of warmth and chill. November in December, which was how the weather felt for much of the month, was replaced by alternating shots of cold and warmth - a theme that's continued into early January. The week ahead will feature more of the same as last week. Temperatures that start and end chilled, but moderate midweek ahead of a storm system. Such is the theme of the last couple of weeks and the likely theme of the next couple of weeks. A weak cool front will cross the region early Tuesday, stalling out and perhaps bringing a sprinkle to the region as it crosses. The front will then lift back north as a warm front for Wednesday, bringing occasional showers to the region as low pressure lifts …
