More Charges Added for Russell's Shooter

Yingling now faces criminal solicitation charges from Berks County D.A.

  Christopher Yingling, 42, the alleged shooter of Limerick Deputy Fire Chief Glen Russell, has additional charges pending from the Berks County District Attorney. The new charge is criminal solicitation to commit murder, as it is reported by Frank Otto of The Pottstown Mercury that Yingling attempted to hire a hit-man to "murder the victims of his alleged crimes." Yingling already faces charges for sex crimes against a teenager and for shooting Russell. For the full story, click here. MERCURY: Birdsboro shooting suspect charged with sex crimes involving teen

The following clip comes from Frank Otto of the Pottstown Mercury: BIRDSBORO — The Birdsboro man accused of shooting his girlfriend’s ex-husband is now charged with numerous sex crimes involving a teen girl. Christopher D. Yingling, 42, of the 500 block of West Second Street, who was previously charged with shooting Limerick fire official Glen Russell on Jan. 24 in his car in a Berks County parking lot, was charged Wednesday with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sex assault, aggravated indecent assault, prostitution, producing and presenting obscene sexual materials and performance, as well as other similar offenses, all involving a girl under the age of 15. “This is just the most disturbing number of facts I’ve seen,” …

Hearing Waived in Russell Shooting

An update on the case between Limerick's Deputy Fire Chief and his alleged shooter.

The following comes from Brandie Kessler of The Pottstown Mercury: SPRING TOWNSHIP — A Birdsboro man charged with attempting to kill a Limerick Fire Company official who is also a local realtor and his girlfriend’s ex-husband, will go to trial after waiving his preliminary hearing Tuesday. Christopher D. Yingling, 41, of 516 W. 2nd St., was returned to Berks County Prison in lieu of $400,000 cash bail after he waived his hearing before District Judge Ann Young. Yingling is accused of shooting Glen Russell, the deputy fire chief with Limerick Fire Company, on Jan. 24 while Russell was in a vehicle in a parking lot awaiting a court-appointed meeting with his ex-wife, who was Yingling’s girlfriend. Limerick Deputy Fire Chief Shot Tuesday

Russell is currently hospitalized and in stable condition.

The following is from Dwayne Parker, reporter for WFMZ-TV: SPRING TWP., Pa. - Police said a domestic dispute may have led to the shooting of Limerick Deputy Fire Chief Glen Russell. Investigators said the shooting happened as Russell, 43, was getting out of his car shortly before 11 a.m., outside the Montrose Realty Inc. office, 2917 Windmill Rd., in Spring Twp. Berks Co. Court documents show Russell was about to meet his ex-wife for a court-appointed meeting. Spring Township Police arrested Christopher Yingling, 41, of Birdsboro, and charged him with the shooting. Police said Russell identified his shooter as Yingling, and also said Yingling was his ex-wife's boyfriend. For the full story, click here.

Glen sold my house in only 3 days and for more than the asking price. I have known him to always be a gentleman ans someone that give sback to the community in many ways. I am glad he will recover, but what a sad state of affairs! I wish him a speedy return to 100%   more ›
