Hatfield Man Wanted for Attempted Murder Throat Slashing Turns Himself In

Thomas Troy Young, 49, of Wheatfield Circle, allegedly slashed the throat of his wife in their home on March 10 and fled the scene. Bail was set at $1 million. He is charged with attempted murder.

HATFIELD, PA — The Hatfield man wanted on attempted murder charges in the throat slashing of his wife has turned himself has turned himself in to police—and remains incarcerated at Montgomery County prison on $1 million bail. Thomas Troy Young, 49, of the 300 block of Wheatfield Circle, contacted and turned himself in to Hatfield Township Police on March 15, police said. Young was arraigned before District Judge Harry Nesbitt and bail was set at $1 million cash, police said. A preliminary hearing is set for March 25 at 10:30 a.m. before District Judge Kenneth Deatelhauser in Souderton. Police said Young allegedly fled the scene of a crime on March 10 at 12:38 a.m. Young allegedly assaulted his wife, 33, with a knife in their home, police …

The event saw Lansdale Amusement Co. in Hatfield providing 40 state-of-the-art Korean-made VSPhoenix dartboards for the $22,000 dart tournament Friday at the Sumneytown Pike hotel, according to The Reporter Online. The newspaper reports the digital dart machines have remote-play capabilities — you can challenge someone in another country from your neighborhood bar via a special online card — and are complete with surround sound speakers and 26-inch HD monitors. Meth Ring Kingpins Plead Guilty Thursday

Troy Dudas, 36, formerly of Limerick, entered an open guilty plea in Montgomery County court Thursday, facing 12 years in prison. David Penna, 36, of Hatfield, also pleaded guilty to lesser offenses and avoids jail time

Two more drug kingpins in the Montgomery County methamphetamine ringhave pleaded guilty to their crimes. Troy Dudas, 36, formerly of Limerick, and David Penna, 36, of the 1300 block of Cabin Road, Hatfield Township, both pleaded guilty Thursday to their involvement in the ring, according to Peg Gibbons of The Intelligencer. David Penna, however, will not face jail time — he received a four-year probation after pleading guilty to lesser offense. According to Gibbons, Dudas entered an open guilty plea, throwing himself on the mercy of the court. He faces up to 12 years in prison. Raffle Items, Donations Sought for Cancer Benefit for Hatfield Man

A beef and beer fundraiser takes place Friday evening in Lansdale for a local man diagnosed with cancer for the second time

Area businesses have contributed greatly for a cancer benefit this Friday evening for a Hatfield native diagnosed with cancer for the second time in 11 years. However, more raffle items and donations are still being accepted for the event. The benefit seeks to help cover the medical costs for Hatfield native and 1998 North Penn High School graduate Jason Heffner. Heffner, an amateur filmmaker who currently resides in the Juniata section of Philadelphia, is battling cancer without medical insurance.
